About the event

Lhulh'uts'ut’en – We Work Together: Indigenous Day of Learning brings together all SD57 staff and educators for a day of learning, reflection, and connection grounded in Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing. Through shared experiences, stories, and teachings, participants will deepen their understanding of Indigenous perspectives and strengthen practices that support meaningful and inclusive learning environments for all students.

Kory Wilson Kwakwaka’wakw, Executive Director of Indigenous Initiatives and Partnerships at BCIT

Kory Wilson is Executive Director of Indigenous Initiatives and Partnerships at the British Columbia Institute of Technology.  She holds the position of National Indigenous Education Chair for Colleges and Institutes Canada and Chair of the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics Indigenous Affinity Group.


Kory has over 20 years of experience in post-secondary education, community development, and in the legal profession. With a deep commitment to education, she knows innovative and creative solutions are a must to move Reconciliation into ReconciliACTION.  She is a strong believer that education and access to knowledge are key to move everyone forward, and that when people know better, they do better.


Chris Scribe, Nakota/Nehiyaw (Assiniboine/Cree) from Carry the Kettle Nakoda Oyade and Kinosaeo Sipi Cree Nation, is grounded in Indigenous culture, language, and teachings from his family.
